I have an old Spyder painball gun laying around and I was wondering if there's a way of using the guts of that to create a pneumatic cannon...

Any thoughts?

You're probably better off keeping it as a paintball gun. You might be able to change the barrel but that's all I can think of.

I think you could turn it into a QEV (to pilot a piston )with a ready made pistol grip...Post a picture of the gun and of it's insides I might figure it out

i too was thinking about this, i see a ton of t-shirt cannons for sale that look exactly like a paintball gun handle with a built in regulator and a clear pvc barrel.

im gonna take my junk gun apart and see how it releases the gas, could be easily modified with the right grip/receiver setup

if it still works just get potatoes and carve them till they are round and fit in a paintball gun and shoot them

nicholia! No need to take it apart (I think)! Unless your gun is different from the model then the insides should look something like this http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/ ... 3d-gun.htm.
I don't think it has very good flow but, most likely it will work if you hook up the pilot space to where the CO2 is supposed to go

try replaceing the valve spring with a lighter one and the hammer spring (the main spring) with a really strong one and you should be able to get more power out of it. also drill out your bolt if you have a ventury(sp) stile bolt for higher air flow. and if you want you can buy a high flow valve. then crank down on the velocity adjuster and run it at full co2 psi (no reg) you could probably do some damage with that if you did it right.
