Does anyone know how to build a reuseable smoke grenade or at least something that works like one that I can soot out of a spudgun?I know about those simple flour-in-napkin 'grenades' but I don't think it can handle the force of the launch.Any ideas?

Fill paper cups with flour, tape paper over the cup opening, it will burst on impact. The cup should hold up. Mite work??? Would be fun to try.

Incinderary projectiles are forbidden on the forum (so nobody suggest actual smokebombs). Frankly I would just stick with the flour bombs like jrrdw suggested. It would be you best bet and probably the only way you can get reusable ones.

Paper cups? that might need a big barrell no?and mega_swordman I don't plan on using incinderary projectiles.I just need something that can be used like a standard smoke grenade to cover me.

Use compressed air to force fill flour into latex tubing that has been closed at one end and the other end closed by folding the tubing on itself sliding a washer over and putting a pin between the tubing that is folded on itself.

For example,

1/4" ID, 3/8" OD latex tubing, use a 1/2" washer.

The pin keeps the grenade from going off, the washer adjusts the sensitivity, for example, closer to the end makes the grenade more likly to go off but sliding the washer on further make it alot less sensitive. Experiment with how far to put on the washer. These grenades detonate upon impact once the pin is removed.

These can be used to throw or shoot in a launcher, which ever works the best.

Yes it does work with liquid, I make my own paint to fill the grenades and make paintball grenades. Just for Memorial Day Weekend I made 111 grenades for a night and day paintball game, I would carry about 15 grenades per game and looked like a walking grenade. You can use a bb but there are problems with that, the paint (if sitting around for a while) can dry around the bb and lock it in place so the grenade will not go off, you need to dry the tubing where the bb is going to be, its harder to control the sensitivity of the grenade, and its harder to make.

I make my grenades with the washer because its easier, you can control the sensitivity better, and you don't have to worry about the paint drying (if it dries in the tube the grenade will still work.

Here is a video of a test grenade detonating (the actual grenades are about 4" shorter and come in 2 different styles, the hot dog (launcher version) and one the looks like a squad buster grenade (hand thrown)) :

The purple tubing is not surgical tubing like is used in all other grenades, I have special ordered it and its high pressure tubing requiring a special and expensive setup to make.

Using regular Surgical tubing is fine and requires less than 40 PSI to fill the grenades. You can use a simple large syringe to fill the grenades, here is a site for more detailed information on making them:

That is one way you could make a what is know to be a standard grenade but the purple ones I make require around 3 times the pressure to fill, spray 360 degrees, have a 20+ foot blast radius, are easier to put on and remove from fill nozzle, you can adjust the sensitivity, etc.

an effective reusable bomb is still a mystery all of use have probely wondered this at one point or another
are you looking for a safe projectile to be used for a certain purpose
if not you can just pack powder and shoot it, but for a safe projectile you should remember that flour is light so its not much of a problem but the shell is hard to make light and safe

wow too much info sounds like a bad idea, i'm try to follow rules
ok with that said you use flour not because it's biodegradable and makes a smoke effect you can do the same thing I think with the paint grenades if you add air to push the flour
are you shooting the thing or throwing it this sounds like it could go wrong in so many ways

In grenade form (like a paintball grenade) it will only detonate upon striking something. If fired from a cannon the sensitivity would need to be adjusted by pushing the washer back, if thowing, regular sensitivity, just don't accidently drop it.
