Sprinkler valve help!!

I am currently using a 3/4 moded sprinkler valve on my pneumatic shotgun. The chamber is 6 in. of 3/4 in... The problem is, that when I pump it up, the air leaks out of the barrel... how can I fix this???

Yeah, i'm having the same prob too. I called the company for a free replacement diaphragm and top housing. Should arrive some time. but i'm up the creek on this one.

This is relatively easy to fix if you should wish to DIY. Just open up the valve, make sure the equalizer port is clear, the spring is working, and there are no leaks in the top housing.

If all this fails, it could be that the chamber is being filled too slowly. If you have a big chamber, and are using a bike pump, the pressure provided by one pump may not be enough to close the diaphragm. Instead, it just leaks out.

Yeah I had the same problem, I went in to the Home-cheapo and blew in to every last one they had and the all never sealed, which they should have done.
Ever since then when I go to get a new valve I check them. If you blow in to the chamber side and it doesn’t seal, don’t get it.

I dont think the pressure generated by blowing into it will seal any brand of valve. I cant even blow 1psi, but using a bike pump it seals instantly.
What im saying is that you shouldnt pass up a valve because you cant seal it with your lungs.

ACDC: take the top off the valve and clean the underside of the diaphram.

Good tip mopherman, and one I missed. In a smaller chamber a bike pump will seal it instantly, but in a larger chamber (like on this guy's gun) it may not. In the larger chamber, a bike pump may only provide 1 or 2 psi per pump. As you said, that is not nearly enough to seal a valve.

On the underside, especially look for shreds of pvc from sanding and sawing. I have run into this problem several times.

Trust me, I’ve made ‘em seal, and I’ve got a touch of asthma.
You just got to blow hard, the good ones will seal right up.

the problem was that the diaphram was all dirty, so i cleaned it with soap, and lubed it up, now it works fine...
