For my ghetto breech system I'm using a 1/2'' coupling on some 1/2'' pipe. There's a little ridge in there that I can't seem to get out. I just spent about 35 minutes using a drill, sandpaper, a hammer and a flathead screwdriver but can't get the pipe to slide through. Is there a good method to get it out, or should I just be sanding for a while?

Thanks
Salty

try a chisel, that might work, if not just keep sanding and/or drilling

I don't have a dremel  and the chisel wouldn't fit, hence the flathead screwdriver. I think I'll try a knife.

I'm afraid you're just going to have to keep sanding it till it fits.

Wow I'm so stupid! I was looking through my grandpa's old tools on the top shelf and I found like 3 drills and 3 dremels, belt sanders etc.
Now he coupling fits perfectly. I feel special :D

On the subject of big files, my friend has this huge belt sander that's about as big as a big drill press and the "belt" of sanpaper can easily wrap around a full-grown man- the funny part is he got it used and the guard was off, so he got a free killing machine!
