Please Help! pneumatic gun

I just made my first pneumatic gun. I tried using a valve from my moms old car tire to fill up the chamber i used silicone sealant and i tried teflon tape and air still leaks around it. when i pump up the chamber the modded sprinkler honks while air is leaking around the schrader valve

I was thinking about going to buy a new schrader valve instead of using the old one. could the sprinkler valve be honking because the air is coming in to slow?

The valve is probably honking because the air is coming in too slow, so you can add a cheap ball valve between the sprinkler valve and the air chamber, that way you can fill up the chamber with the ball valve closed, then open the ball valve to let the air into the valve.

Just drill a hole, and pop it in. Add some epoxy if you so desire.

i tried but it still leaks around it

Hmmm... I had the same problem on my first cannon. Did you epoxy it or just pop it in? Is your hole perfectly round?

i tried epoxy and just popping it in. I just looked at the gun and the hole is not completly round. I am about to go to lowes to get a ball valve and a new schrader and endcap

Go to Pepboy's Auto and they have valves in a 3 pack for 5 dollars. The valves don't need to be glued, just drill a hole and tighten the nut. It comes with rubber disks to seal.

that valve isnt all there its supposed to have a big fat end

That valve looks like it's missing the fat rubber part that goes on the end. Auto repair shops that specialize in tires, such as pep boys should have those for sale cheaply. They're very easy to mount if you know what you're doing.

The one you can can be used, just drill a hole slightly smaller than the rubber neck and pull it though (it should be a really tight fit). It will pretty much make a seal around itself, but you can reinforce it with blue tac or something.

In simple terms:

It's sapossed to be a 11/64ths" diameter hole. Look at a new tire valve stem, theres a big thick round bottem, a grove, then a taper to a neck with a shreader valve/valve core on the inside, with threads on the outside for the cap. It gets installed from the inside out. Pull the valve stem through the hole untill the grove then stop. No sealent needed, drill a clean straight hole, litely sand off any burs/twistys.

Ja, JB weld it. And next time leave so of the tube at the bottom because it helps seal it.
