I like that QD thing on it... but who said it needs that air ram where it is ?? if the ram has to open the QD first and than the QD has to open too this means that there will be some delay caused by inertia

Yes...it is this inertia that makes sure the ammo gets launched at full speed, without the massive pressure drop from the bolt opening too early..
It might not need the airram..but it works fine the way it is...

I need to get a new barrel and tighter ammo...I'll consider this a prototype..butta...tha bolt slams back all the way on every single shot I've tried and relocks.
The ammo needed some tape to seal so I did not feel like finishing the mag as I would have trouble feeding anyway...
But the single shots proved the basic idea works...

Any readings on fps? As with the good majority of your designs i always like to point out a personal suggestion...Longer barrel!

But its still amazing that you would call this work of art a prototype it looks very neat and well organized. I like a lot and cant wait for the finished product!

I know this thread has been dead for awhile but, I think I have something useful to contribute. It was discussed earlier in the thread that a check valve could be used to improve ram performance. My question is this, if a check valve was installed would the increased pressure retention overcome the fact that less air would enter the ram due to increased flow restriction?

that's a tricky question you know anyway you still have to vent the ram after that

personally I think he should forget about all that delayed blowback thing... just put the strongest spring you can get and that's it

No way to tell without testing..

There are too many factors at play here.

I wish more people would give the idea a try, so we can see what, for instance, a larger bore would do for this thing.
Or placing the system further back on the barrel..

I'm trying it with a 50 cal. barrel and I am considering adding the check valve but I am unsure and that's why I brought this thread up.
