It won't make it explode directly (unless you've used crappy material for the barrel). But if your gun isn't built to handle the recoil or if you aren't prepared for it then it is very easy to snap fittings and/or hurt whoever is firing.bigbob12345 wrote: Please explain this [wiseass physics knowledge] because I dont see how it could possibley make it explodeWater is heavy if you use enough but wouldnt shooting heavy things be the same.

A properly built gun won't explode even if you fill the barrel with lead and fire. On the other hand, if your gun was made of PVC, excessive recoil could damage the fittings, but any heavy projectiles will do that.
I had a similar problem with my SCTBDC that involved the DWV ABS reducers on the barrel cracking open when I shot 10 pound darts at 400 psi. Wrapping it in a large amount of fiberglass seemed to solve the problem.

Get malleable iron fittings and ballvalve and try again.
