Geeze BTB, lighten up a little. And, there's no such thing as wildlife "murder". That's a term reserved for the criminal taking of a human life.Brian the brain wrote:but here are all the links you need to start MURDERING WILDLIFE!

Yep. I know..basically the same thing..
But don;t worry..
He can blast them all to hell for all I care.
I was just making a point.
You can't say "it's against the rules, but here is how you do it"
just plain stupid..
spudguns and the like are not suited for hunting. If hunting is your "game" then buy a real gun.

Agreed. Against the rules is against the rules.Brian the brain wrote:You can't say "it's against the rules, but here is how you do it"
Far too true. There's far from enough power and not enough accuracy to make use of that limited power either.spudguns and the like are not suited for hunting.
My air rifle is about 11 ft-lbs, there or thereabouts. That's fine for squirrels, rats and perhaps rabbits (although it is .177, so perhaps not the rabbits), because it's accurate enough that it can make use of all that with a clean headshot at modest ranges.
Most spudguns are dozens of times more powerful, but you wouldn't catch me hunting with and of them, because I can't be sure of a clean hit.
If you absolutely need to hunt these things, do it with the proper tools for the job.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Accuracy is not an issue at the correct range and with appropriate projectile, smoothbores were being used for hunting and conflict before rifling was introduced. Still today smoothbores live on as shotguns and current military weaponry where the projectiles are fin rather than spin stabilised.
Being a smoothbore does not disqualify a device from having decent accuracy but trying to fire projectiles that a rifled barrel fires does give a significant impression of inaccuracy as they are thus projected with zero stabilisation.
Anyway, that's not an argument for unapproved spudgun use. Just on the note of their perceived accuracy.

Senior members, You all ready know to report such post to the Spudfiles staff. Had this thread been reported to me, (or any other staff members) from the beginning, there would not be 2 pages of general parroting.
It's good that senior members want to help new members or the senior members would not be here knowing what they know my self included.
@Wyld One, go back and read the forum rules, if you all ready have, reread them. I am going to watch your actividy here on the forums closely and if there is any more blatant rule breakage, I will recommend your account for suspension.
That is all.

Good point, nuestra culpa
Think again. And, there's no such thing as wildlife "murder". That's a term reserved for the criminal taking of a human life.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine news website reports that Knut "senselessly murdered the carp", fishing them out, playing with them and then leaving the remains
*sigh*

Since I am the one who reacted most negative, I think you should know:
I´m not flaming you Wyldone.
You are new here and most likely not familiar with the rules.
No blame should fall on you for asking.
Therefore there was no reason to report you to the mods.
The thing that surprises me is that other members, who should know better, first tell you it´s against the rules,( wich is good) and then proceed to tell you how to build it anyway ( bad)
Just so you know, I welcome you to the forum and hope to see some good work from you.
If you do decide to hunt, do so with respect for whatever it is you are hunting.
A homemade device is not the best way to go about. With what you can learn here, it will most likely end in slaughter.
On this forum, we murder plywood and old appliances.
For that purpose, we will most certainly help you out.

It took us quite a long time before we got to murder innocent wildlife eh?Brian the brain wrote: Our hard earned knowledge to murder innocent wildlife
Pretty funny, I sometimes fish polar bears out of my pond and kill them for fun.
Allthough we may be the most intelligent creature on this planet, we are also the most inconsistent.
To find peace within our existence we often create a logic that endangers our lives.

Muhahaha.
Very sharp!
**" The knowlegde gained from murdering wildlife is just hard to earn..
After all the people I murdered, I still did not have a clue.
Turns out the best way is to use a ghetto spudlauncher.." **
Well, that lightened things up a bit.
( at first glance I thought Knut was senselessly murdering the crap out of them...hahaha)
