when you do it without barrels make sure to add wadding behind them... some small amount of kleenex will do fine. It increases the power dramatically.

Really? I would have used a wadding anyway, only because it's the only way I could think of to hold the bb's in. But I didn't know it would add power.

here watch this video.. you should try loading it and firing it this way...

So wadding, then bbs, then foil tape, then coupling.

So like this:

so yes the BBs and wadding are inside the air chamber behind the burst disk..

How ironic. I was working on plans for an airsoft shotgun and was going to load the shells like the above picture with minor variations. I was going to have the burst disk in the bottom, piece of gun cotton or other wadding (paper towel) fill with bb's tape a piece of tissue paper to the top. (not kleenex, actual tissue paper) How would regular pieces of aluminum foil work for burs disk?

I recomend foil tape because you dont need multiple layers.. if you are using aluminum foil you will need multiple layers...

Yeah, with aluminum foil, you would want four or five layers. With five it becomes very difficult to put the coupling over it. I've gtten foil tape to hold about 70 psi.

Just a question, but why the empty space behind the cartridge? Isn't that just wasting air/CO2?

It allows for a decent amount of air pressure to build up. AFter the burst disk breaks, the bb's are out in the open, so spraying more co2 would not help out at all. I'm pretty sure you understand what I'm saying.

EDIT: the cartridge is the only area for air pressure to build up. Each cartidge is pretty much it's own full-blown spud gun in itself.
