Mr Sandman- that linked gun doesn't look like a sniper rifle though. And the 25 mm sniper isn't a piston valve.

Facepalm lol. The one linked wasnt a sniper rifle because it didnt have a scope eh? I was referring to the design not the actual gun.

Do you really think the 25 mm sniper rifle design wont work for a piston valve setup? All you would have to do is replace the sprinkler valve with a tee piston valve and you are in business. I dont see what the problem is.
Yeah, it's that important.

You could try out this design, it works well for me, and looks pretty neat, no weird curves or nothing. could replace the stock T with a piston valve and run some hose up to where you want your trigger
