Possible to avoid a floating barrel with bolt action?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

Here's a crude representation of what you want, as the blue component moves in line with the barrel, it touches the bolt and the "ramp" turns the linear motion into rotary motion.

You can cut this ramp from a larger diameter pipe sleeve.

Needless to say the bolt would require a return spring of some description to lock it once the pump grip has been racked forward.

Haha, yeh I see how I could do that, but I think I will go for the slide breech, as it seems a lot simpler and easier to build :roll: Thank you for all your help ! You are a true innovationist! :) :)
