try with a fridge compressor, if you are from any civilzed country where people throw away used stuff...it wont be a problem to get one...

nope, I'm leaving it muzzle loaded. I still need to fix the barrel because it doesn't point straight which makes the scope useless =/. And bravootome, where might I find a dump of unwanted fridges lol...

people use to throw away old fridge ....i even found a functional large fridge with 2 compressors . GO to the recycling area in your town. It's impossible not to find at least 1 fridge there.

so uhh... how does that conversation go? "hey you got a fridge that I can tear apart so I can have the compressor inside?" "yea sure here's a fridge" hehe

This may be a valid time to remind people that releasing CFCs into the atmosphere is governed by international treaty.
Not all fridges do use CFCs, but getting caught cutting into one that does (and there's often no easy way to tell) can get you in serious trouble.
(Also, regardless of whether you get caught, it's morally questionable).

yeah iv got a mate of mine that works as a fridgy , they use a very complicated method for reclaiming cfc's and other refrigerants, they call it rag recovery. as in just crack open the pipe some more and put a rag on it.
nope, I'm leaving it muzzle loaded
boo ! lets see a mag fed design for this little plinker.
im sure you will find that your scope will sight in once you encase the whole thing in a nice wood body to keep it ridgid

Utter bollocks. There's
specialised machinery for this type of thing, given how much damage it can do to the environment.
Either your mate is having you on, or he needs a visit from the authorities.

you may ask your father to talk for you !
Yes it's that simple.]so uhh... how does that conversation go?
as about the "freon " gas ....and damages it makes to the atm.....
is is a high standard of recycling ..not used where i live . However the forests we cut are having a much larger impact over.
Just looking at news few day ago, and 70% of the forest in my country had been brougt by foreign people or companies . It is incredible to see how in 1 year mountains can be "unforested"

Very nice build sir!
Have you done any mods to the QEV?

i'm trying to build something similar to yours..
I'm pumping 160 PSI from the air tank side and for some reason the air comes out of the silde valve holes and not from the barrel.
i've tried to put a spring in the QEV.. got the same results.
any suggestions?

That's odd, from the image you appear to have mounted everything correctly. Is it possible that the QEV diaphragm is damaged? If air can flow out of the pilot without opening access to the barrel then you must have a diaphragm leak.

tnx jackssmirkingrevenge, you were right.. the diaphragm was damaged. i replaced it and everything is working! thanks!

now i have a different issue. the power is to week. when i used the same setup with a ball valve (no QEV) i use to dump the all tank for each shot and it was really powerful (from 20 meters it could go through 1" plywood with a dart nail with no problem).
i got the QEV and the slide valve to get multi-shot per fill , but the power per shot as decreased dramatically.
i'm pumping 160 PSI into a 500cc air reservoir, the firing chamber is about 50cc and the barrel volume is 120cc.
what is my best option to obtain more power?
1. increasing firing chamber volume
2. decreasing barrel volume
3. increasing air pressure (got a new shock pump - 600 PSI)
should i try all of the above?
