Thanks, it wasn't easy. It took me all of about an hour from beginning to end. Cutting, measuring, beating, ect. BTW, I used hose clamps to compress the cut piece which, I think, made my job easier. -Lp

I found a diagram that called for a 7/8" removal. I started with that and realized it wasn't going to work. I just trimmed it down from there. I probably took almost an inch out. Just make sure that your cut is straight, a noble task, and you'll have no problem. If like me you are even slightly off, the difficulty increases. -Lp

instead of sleeving a barrel or buying golf ball barrels, ive found that a golf ball with out the plastic outer coating will fit in your standard sch40
1 1/2" pipe you can find any where. My question is does any one have a good way of "striping" the plastic off. i was only able to make one of these "modded" golf balls, and it was doe to the fact that it was so old that the plastic had dry rotted and began to crack off on its own.

Sorry to post on an old topic (well, if a month counts as old anyway), but I have a relevent question that doesn't really need its own thread.
Anyone ever used 1.5" Schedule 10 PVC for golf balls?
It has an ID of 1.682" (Calculated from data on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nominal_Pipe_Size) which seems like it would fit a golfball (1.68" diameter) better than SDR 21, which has an ID of 1.7".
