if i use a sleeve valve, it says when its closed it vents pressure to the atmosphere, so wouldn't it just empty the CO2 tank to the atmosphere if i close the valve?

It works like this: when its closed, it vents the piston valve side but blocks the co2 side and when its open it lets co2 through into the chamber.

ok so when the slide valve moved, it would seal the CO2 side and fire the cannon at the same time, correct?

yup thats right.
Also about the change you made for the qev. It's not going to look very good or be structurally strong with three elbows like that. If you think you can do it, make a piston valve. If not maybe a sprinkler valve.

If you have access to a machine shop and CNC stuff try building an alias MKX launcher look alike.I haven't been able to take one apart but I believe they are a coaxial. They seem easy to build.I would try, but lack a verticall mill to cut the base.http://www.bp-usa.com/weaponry.htm.Talk to someone at your paintball field. The local scenario team may have one that you can look at.

thats actually exactly what i am trying to do, unfortunately there are no diagrams and no one i know has one, if you have an idea of how it works, would you mind posting up a diagram?

if i were to make the QEV set up i would put the whole think in a sleeve of Aluminum or something to strengthen it

I made an inline launcher for scenario paintball a while back but it is somewhat heavy, all metal internals, Co2 powered, operates on 800+ PSI, 2"PVC case, internal 9oz Co2 tank, duel ball valves.

It depends on the size. I suppose a blogun could be used for pistons under 3/4", ball valves for 3/4" to 1.5", and sprinkler valves and QEVs for anything over 1.5".
