Thanks for the comments!

Should I paint the cartridges? They look kind of cool right now because the white emphasizes them but plain pvc just doesn't cut it sometimes.

Solar: What exactly is a modified ramping cam. I read a little about the Eclipse so I'll get it if you don't feel like telling me until its being sold. A little less friction would definitely be nice. Before I built this, I was hoping I could put a spring on the slide valve that could push it forward again after I shot it but that would be one heavy duty spring.

I will be posting details in just a couple days. The cam has ramps for the spring loaded pin to act as a clutch unlike your pattern that is based on the same principles, but for the logic of my system wouldn't work sine it would rotate the shell 30 degrees off during firing. Mine stays put until after the shot is fired, then rotates the complete 60 degrees at once. I am using about 24 lbs of spring force. This will be adjustable in future iterations to compensate for heavier belt fed rounds. Send me a private email address over at http://www.eclipselauncher.com and I will send you some early pics.

What do you mean???

The barrel rotates when you move the slide valve forward. Then you move the slide valve back and it shoots and then turns a bit more.

Does that answer your question?

How much better do you think it might work with a longer barrel, maybe some increased velocity and accuracy? Just add an extended 15'' single barrel at the top, allowing the short cartridge holders to still rotate but long barrel remain stationery with some holder or rod spannig from gun accross the rotating piece to the barrel? I'll do some tests and get back....

It probably took about 1 and a half months and maybe 20+ hours of solid work. I estimate it costs about $80.

Thanks spudthug...

spud yeti: I added a barrel and you can see it in the contest section. I can't find the pictures right now. As I said in my description, there isn't any kind of seal between the cartridges and the barrel so the darts actually slow down in the barrel. It wouldn't increase accuracy or velocity. The barrel I added is just for looks. It's 1 inch pvc and darts fit in 1/2".

wow man sweeet gun, really like the revolving but,
you might want to put more pressure in if the last couple of shots are weak.

good job with the design aswell, you must have though about it hard.
