Im pretty sure that any 250 psi piston gun would fall under the "no nonsense" catagory. I sugest making some hidden flow restrictions in the gun to drop the power so your friend doesnt kill himself.

my friend is not what you would call a "fire arm dummy " he has shot guns before like rifles and hand guns... so i am pretty sure he knows how to handle a weapon

Personally, I don't think you can, possibly because you can't spell "weapon" and you can't take the time to click the SpellCheck button.

You also can't spell rifle, and if I were you, I would be worried about giving someone a device which could easily result in their own death, or someone else's, either due to misuse, careless use, bad materials, shoddy craftsmanship, or the idiocy of some third party. You, and/or your friend could end up getting sued by somebody if something did go wrong, and there are a multitude of things which could go wrong, especially considering who will be building this 250psi copper "riffle".
bigbob, if you find this, you need to get a girlfriend. go to my post on your "dad won't let me go bigger" thread for details

ok if you cant make your own cannon then go buy a paintball gun. no offense to your friend, he may be great about safety on shotguns but be clueless to the safety on home made guns. did you really use foam core abs dwv? ! other thing can you sweat copper together? if not your in trouble, you cant just jb weld or tape copper together and it does involve alot more than using primer and glue to bond pvc(since you decided not to glue pvc but use duct tape). if your friend is serious draw him some plans and see if he can make it. if not "just say no".

Nuff of the questioning of his abilities.
It doesn't take a professional plumber to make a join that can take 250psi.
I just wouldn't trust someone who's never made one to behave with it out of supervision.
