My time is usually more valuable than the materials themselves ;) post drawings with materials and tolerances and I will consider.

I knew there was something I hadn't reinstalled! ;) but tonight I'll be heading for a brief stint overseas so won't have cad viewer access over the weekend.

Just wondering if anyone can make this part, it's a bit weird. Material has to be strong, brass might do it. But right now I'm wondering if anyone can even make it.

Well, since you're 'Just Wondering"....Yes. It's an extremely simple part and most anyone can make it. Why not machine it from steel as it's cheaper and stronger than brass ?

Thanks, I'm not very educated on machining so I wasn't sure if uncommon dies were needed to make the threads. I thought steel was more expensive, but it was what I wanted to have it made from. Thanks velocity.

Elite: draw simple diagrams, it helps with quotes.

Most every machine / welding shop has a pile of scrap steel shapes and small bits around the shop just for small jobs. Material that small isn't worth the embarrassment of charging for it. I'm sure you'll find steel to be free.

Yeah I guess you're right.
If this was to be made, would a die be used, or a cutting tool and slow speed? Probably depends on the machine and machinist, right?
