And watto, how did you get 5.01 spud bux? I thought you said the most was 5...
Like BC said, Spudbux are calculated using a very complex and transcendental algorithm. Therefore, we cannot know the EXACT amount of spudbux you will get per post, only a good approximation by several iterations of the SpudBux algorithm. Many mathematicians have spent millions of man-hours and countless football fields of kraft paper for calculations, but have still not found any sort of equation of which the algorithm's results are a root of. Therefore... don't worry about it.

Of course, we can always use DYI's simple explanation. Do not try to gain the spudbux. That is impossible (or at least pointless). Only try to realize the truth: there are no spudbux.

BC: Oh, okay. I thought you meant BC Canada. Oh well...

trivium: That's a good idea, but I just came back from Home Depot with all the stuff needed for my original idea...sorry.

watto: I got my name changed from PCGUY because of some reason...it had to be done, and that started a friendship between me and him. I talk to him on MSN a lot now.

mark: WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO USE SUCH LONG WEIRD WORDS!?!?!? Hehe, yep. And who's DYI, and what's his explanation?

And I just got 4.83 spud bux for this post. Pretty close to a 5.

Welcome to Spudfiles, or as I call it, the best darn forum on the 'net! I'm definitely looking forward to your gun, but I would put a sprinkler valve on it instead of a ball valve.

That would have been a little over my budget...and I already built my gun and glued it, except for the end cap where I'm going to put my tire valve. I'm probably going to get my ball valve tomorrow from Canadian Tire or something. So expect a cannon coming from me soon...

Meh thats ok

Pleanty of spudders start out w/ ball valves.
I say, their preformance status is quite good.

Woops, did I say ball valve? Hehe, I meant to say tire valve. I already have my ball valve.

A sprinkler valve would probably be more fun than a ball valve.
Unless the ball valve had a spring and trigger set-up on it.

But one thing no-one picked up on that I'm wondering is 1" sch 40 pvc is rated at 450psi and metal ball valves more than that.

A sprinkler valve is rated typically to about 150psi .
So in this case would a ball valve at more pressure give better performance possibly? (if you had a pump or set-up that could give higher pressure)

BTW someone else already kicked up this thread before I replied.

I hope it does. I've always loved ball valves, and how cheap they are. Also, does anyone know where I can buy 1" check valves? I checked Home Depot, but they didn't have much, and I'm in Canada, so don't mention any stores that aren't here...

Once you have experienced the insane power of faster valves(piston, burst disk, sprinkler)you wont feel that way any more.

What on earth do you need a 1" check valve for?

bigbob, I'm gonna be sad that I won't like ball valves anymore. I hope I still will, but maybe not as much. And Gippeto, I need a 1" check valve for a spud gun I've been planning for a long time, and a ball pump can fit perfectly into one of those, and instead of using a tire valve, you can use the check valve. The pump will also be attached to the gun instead of me always having to get the bike pump out of my garage and pump my gun.
