Correct. It lends to more room for ammunition keeping it non-co-axial. The porting and spring tension also helps with the cycle rate. It will be fairly simple to modify this into a full auto launcher with a few more tweeks. Making it this way allows the main valve to open faster since we will be traveling up to 6 inches or more with the blow forward bolt. Sorry if my descriptions were not very good.

Yes, it is illegal to have a firing pin behind 40mm tubing. I do not believe that is true with 37mm however. I will look for some sources on that...

Starting a post for my 40mm lancher, planned ammo is foam balls (practice golf balls) Got a few parts assembled, waiting for a 1/2 QEV off Ebay....
