1/6 scale harding turret lathe, made by Bill Huxhold. Fully functional, guy is a true craftsman..

Edit: last photo is a different lathe, but it's on a similar scale. Does that give a good idea of the size?

Yes, but for production, the turrent is advanced with a long lever and on returning it all the way back, it automaticaly indexes the next tool into place. The distance each tool can advance is adjusted by a stop screw for each. I'll post a photo in the morning. On my dad's it is flat, the tools don't tip up in the back.

In the next to the last picture the flat ended tool is a stop so when bar stock is advanced, it postitons the length, from there, the various tools are brought into postion in sequence. With stops set, every piece has the exact same depth of cut. The turrent is most often used in production work where many parts all the same are made.

Edit; Noticed the depth stops on the rear of the turrent. This operates just like my dad's if it advances each time it is returned all the way back. Do you know if it auto indexes? Some have to be hand advanced.

Hahaha, too funny. Yeah I'd say it's no kill shot because there's mainly fat in that area. But you could get lucky. I wasn't when I hit an 8 point at this spot. Saw blood for twenty yards then it vanished. The arrow was coated with streaks of fat and very little blood.

Anyway, back on topic. The rounds look very promising. At a hundred yards I expected a few misses but that spread was better than I ever could have imagined. Does the UHMW compound tend to crack and shatter? Or does it tend to deform similar to the lead. Also, do the O-rings ever come off due to friction in the barrel?

I was asked not to completely destroy the foam target and to shoot somewhere outside the kill zone. I do sometimes get labeled "Captain Destructo" Something about 1.7" to 2.0" holes in everything.

I think the target is made from closed small cell foam.

These photos were taken in NY at my old mans farm. There is interest in taking a 520 deer hunting this fall. I E-mailed the NYS hunting and fishing folks to see if it could be used during muzzle loading season.

We have not seen the UHMW crack, tear, or shatter. Under big stress it will deform the thinner parts. UHMW is unbelievable stuff.

O-rings do disappear occasionally and usually on impact as I find them at the target area. They are cheap though and I usually send out a bunch of extras with the orders.

On another note, have you tried hang time tests with spuds? I got 14 seconds last weekend. Too bad I didn't get it on video.

The county sheriff showed up. Nice guy. He was checking boaters registrations and licenses along with sobriety. I talked to him and asked about operating the "Ham Radio Antenna Launcher" and he was fine with it.

I let him know that I wanted to see if I could get a tennis ball across the reservoir, but didn't want to litter as we had no way to retrieve them. He offered to pick them up. He could use the search and rescue training. We launched in a half dozen balls. Had a great time. He picked them up twice. His only rule was "Don't call me rover." While out there, we even launched a couple tennis balls at him, and landed a couple 25 feet away.

Attached is the Google satellite view of the reservoir. Green is the tennis ball tosses. The far one was a water filled one. The red is a 400 foot line toss crossing the parking lot and onto the hill by the dam.

We finished our manufacturing run on 1.7", 2.0" and 2.5" versions of our UHMW rounds. The final product features steel caps for durability. All have a CP-CG differential of 1/2 caliber.

We do have a BL-525 to test the 2.5" versions. Stay tuned for videos and performance results this weekend.

Mods may be lurking but Sponsor did NOT cross the line. If we/ he messes up, we will own up to it. Are you a mod or sponsor?

Composed of 1.25" SDR-21 and turned sched 40 1.5" parts. Oring makes up the difference in diameters, giving good seal and barrel positioning retainment. Rebated boat tail... I haven't done the math, but CP and CG differential is close to 1 caliber so it should make for stable flight. Weighs in about 145 grams. Videos may ensue tomorrow.

We will be offering DIY kits like <a href="http://ultimatespudgun.com/product_info ... ">these</a> for this version upon successful testing.
