Made some using steel bolts as cores and aimed for the 7/8 oz - 1 1/8 oz weight range shotgun slugs normally come in, these should perform better :)

Cool work man.

On a slightly different note, any interest in a 73.66mm version made from tungsten? :D

You're going to have to elaborate on that ;P

That would have to be transported by low-loader :-/

Here's what I'll be sending to demolition ranch tomorrow - made from high tensile bolts as cores for now while I await the tungsten and HSS, hopefully these will do well anyway:

Aww it wouldn't be THAT heavy. :)

About 7lbs or so for what I'd be designing. The tungsten's only 1" in diameter, about 12-15" long.

Do hope that works out well for ya!

I got that, but what does the acronym refer to? Or was it just gobbledygook?

That's pretty expensive  even Hitler had issued a führerbefehl stating that tungsten should be used for machine tools, not flung around the Russian front at silly velocities :D which was a shame.

These cost me about $3 each for 9 grams each, and you're talking about 2500 grams

Those are tungsten carbide though, other tungsten alloys are cheaper.

APFSDS is Armour Piercing Fin Stabilised Discarding Sabot.

APSLFHSKFNEOCSKF presumably is A Particularly Small Lead Free Highly Streamlined Kinetic Force Nano Energy Omni Capable Silent Killing Fireball.

or something like that :)

They're currently on their way to Texas to be fired out of a shotgun ;)

Some more slugs for Demolition Ranch, using 3/4 oz tungsten fishing sinkers. Not particularly hard alloy but the high density should make for some interesting results. I like how the subcalibre one looks a little like a cartridge, it would give credence to movie posters like this.
