edit: Brian, couldn't you have saved yourself the hassle of a locking bolt by using a sleeve?
JAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

You just killed my bullpup!

Plus: I think this is easier.. :D
Love the comments on the diagram..Thanx..
I finally get it now..
(Great artwork on the bb BTW)
Hope you're not too busy over the weekend, would be good to see some more progress on this gun ASAP
I hope to do some more work tonight...maybe friday...the weekend is out...I'll be picking up my wrecked scooter saturday.
I need to ride it to work on monday.
I hope it has no real structural damage..

Found the cleanest solution for the connector bolt!
I'll finish that tonight...

And the materials I have for the mag are promissing!!
Perhaps I can even make it detacheble..

I got this big smiley in my belly...
Riding on the brainwaves here~~~~~~

You know how sometimes you have one of those days that you're so bloody busy you deliberately waste time on needless details ;)

Like this?

The hovering bolt should be fixed once the breechhole is drilled and I start using ammo.

I use a plug in the muzzle to simulate a projectile--in order to have the ram work without making too much noise ( I could muzzle load a single bb..)

With the bb exiting the muzzle and the extra venting through the breechhole pressure will drop immediately after the bolt has openened.

It was locked after the last shot though..
And the ram DID unlock the bolt, so...

So far, so good!!!

I had to watch it in slowmo to see TA-TA-TA...on the middle shot the bolt doesn't lock.

Just a wee bit of pressure left causes it to hang.
Even regulating flow could solve it for now..

But as I said..it's different with ammo.

Like the cleaner connection??

I watched it a couple of times..at first I was focused on the bolt...the second time I looked at the ram...both seem to work properly..

:D
YES!!

Thank you Al-xg!!

hmmm... I think this could be use to get rid of that air-ram... it's pretty self-explanatory I guess...
there is a T near the muzzle and tubing runs from it to one side of the air cylinder... the other side is already pressurised to the same pressure as you intend the gun to be at or slightly higher

when you fire the gun the bolt stays in place but once air from the muzzle reaches the air cylinder the bolt moves back

The air ram just looks more AK 47 than a bunch of hoses running around.

Every time i see the video i like it even more. I love seeing the parts move out side the gun. i just finished making the blow forward breach that jsr made, but like this so much wanna try it.
Do you think it would work at 150 psi? and does it need constant flow or just a pre-charged tank.

@jsr
you know you should put in your sig something along the lines of

'JSR (tm)
providing the most disturbing links since 1999'

You've just got a dirty eye!

I think this could be use to get rid of that air-ram
Well...let's..ehm..see
There are several ways of doing it.
The basic idea of using a muzzleporting to recock could even be done in a pistol sized...ehm...launcher.
And I have indeed pondered the use of hoses so the moving parts would take up less space on the gun.If I hadn't just happen to find the right parts I would have probably.

But we all know this crowd just loves pictures, especialy moving ones..
I'm guessing moving external parts will be appreciated better in the case of a relatively new concept.
It makes it easier to get.

Plus..it's :headbang:

@BTB : your machine gun, even at this (not so) early stage is very, very impressive, I can't wait to see it finished!!! Maybe this time a video that will last more than 20 seconds?? (with full-auto carnage??)
