Most of use live in countries with reducers. These guys MAKE there own reducers just for a UNDER AVERAGE combustion potato cannon, watch!

I seriously doubt that they couldn't get pvc reducers. What kind of video would it be if they didn't get to use the drill press?

More than enough.

I can buy reducers but never used one, always preferred to cast my own fittings out of epoxy. When you make your own parts to your specifications you can make your launchers much more efficient and compact.

My first co-axial was built in the same manner using balsa-wood discs glued on with Araldite.

These days I do "borrow" a few from work but before I used to buy them from a pharmacy, it helps that I'm dating a pharmacist too

Hi,

Ahh, that comes from the Norway. They were in pretty much the same situation as I was in, in Denmark (neighbor country), when I built my first gun.

I´ll give u the facts abt their situation:

- You won´t find any PVC plumbing in the hardware stores.

- The pipes on the video is PP (polypropylene) sewer pipe. It´s an excellent material, it will never shatter and it´s strong. Its only problems are: Almost nothing will adhere to it, and it has a high thermal expansion coefficient.
The epoxy they used in the film will fall off quite easily. The secret is to file the surfaces really rough, use lots of expanding foam as glue (squeeze out the bubbles and apply again - and accept that you will look like a monster and get no sex for a week, when you get the stuff all over your hands), and have a big hammer ready for assembly.

- You won´t find any reducers that are very suitable for spudding. They are eccentric, meaning that the axis of one pipe is displaced a couple of cm from that of the other, and they are difficult to glue. They are made for vertical drain pipes at zero pressure.

Anyway, with the right ad hoc techniques, high performance things can be made out of it, such as this supersonic combustion gun. Coincidentally, this also uses wooden reducers, see no. 7 photo from the top.

We had a massive outbreak of "Killer Mushrooms" at our school, a guy ate one cause he thought the teachers were bullshitting,( he's also so far up himself he defecates through his mouth) and he went to hospital for a 2 weeks.

We had no problems with the epoxy sticking to the pipes. However, the design was not very good. I recommend some kind of hatch in the "bottom" to pole out fucked potatoes. Also I would recommend an ignition system and a laser.

By the way, people, does anyone know where I can find the drawings for the starch wars rapid fire six shooter potato cannon?

Would Epoxy casting be a suitable material for large scale fittings though, such as 1"+?

Epoxy chips and fractures if you hit it or drop it, so I won't be going and casting my own reducers just quite yet.

Good for you I used epoxy on PP parts in my first 2 cannons. If it hadn't fallen apart before the first shot, then surely it would during the shot... But OK the surfaces I glued together were very small. I only glued to avoid drilling holes.
