Spud guns Not illegal

Is there a site or something that states that if you use a spud gun you will not go to jail?

These kids on the news brought a "The Works" Bomb to the bus stop and they are now in jail. So my dad seen that and said that he doesnt want me doing those bombs anymore and that he doesnt know if he wants me to have the spud gun because it could kill somebody. I said that if you dont wanna be killed, DONT STAND IN FRONT OF IT! and not to load it with rocks or something!

He also said that it would brake a window and etc. I told him that if you dont want a broken window, dont aim at a window!

So is there a site saying that they are ok?

You're looking at it.
Explain to your dad that there is no federal law banning spudguns, and the majority of local laws don't even mention spudguns. The only problem might be a noise violation if someone complains.
If you have good common sense, then you can use a spudgun safely. And sure it may kill someone, but so can a beseball bat or a car, sure it can break a window, but so can a baseball or throwing a rock and I'm sure your dad is fine with those (maybe not the rock throwing though).

you could ask a cop, but then your having the issue of the cops thinking your doing it. Ignorance is always an option.

Edit:looks like someone already checked it out. They is nothing saying you can't have them, so thats a plus.

Just promise to ONLY shoot it in the woods, no people to kill, no windows to break.
Or just ignore him, leave the spudding down for a small time and then pick it up slowly.

i live in Florida to. and im always wanting to ask a cop but every time i see one i chicken out. but i have emailed the fire marshal fire chief an chief of police where i live and havnt gotten no reply.

i havnt taken none of my guns out of my house except for when i go to my grandpas house. but a few months ago me and my friend took his combustion gun to the beach and shot off a bag of spuds and people were like "thats kool" and they stood back and watched.

Both parents think they are cool so thats not a problem.
But my dad just doesnt want me to get arrested for shooting one.
