How are members getting more the one quote in the same post?

I'm not asking my question rite. If i click on quote in someone's post it takes me to a different screen. Once i'm on that 2nd screen, all other post in that thread are below the text field. Do i type the code around what i want quoted, then when i click submit, everything i want quoted will be quoted???
