hey guys, i just bought a 25mm sprinkler valve, it is a garden mate one and cost me $19. it has a guide rod aswell.

my question is: do sprinkler valves let air through if you blow in the direction of flow? like if i blew in the end without 'flow' written on it, would it come out the other end?

and do sprinkler valves seal using a bike pump.

thanks.

Its a diaphragm valve, its just your lungs produce a max of around 2psi, it needs a larger pressure burst, like from a bike pump. Some people have issues with the valve sealing, which is resolved by putting a ball valve between the chamber and the sprinkler valve.

ok well now it seals when i blow in it, and i just had part of the diaphragm in the wrong way.

it is a valve with a guide rod, the exact valve in the 'wrong' sprinkler modding thread, i was wondering if it matters if i drilled the hole for my blowgun on the opposiute side of the solenoid or not..

thanks

No prob, i have the same one as you then, from bunnings as well.

As long as the mod is above the diaphragm, it will work.

Unless you owned that bus, or had permission from the owner to shoot it, i would not say stuff like that it on this forum. Not only is it illegal, but it gives spud guns a bad name.
