First of all, i know next to nothing about real guns, and have never seen how automatic guns work. However, this is something i came up with which is designed to be easy to build and work effectively. I drew some pics, but I will try to explain it. First air is pumped into the tee through the check valve attached to the bottom of the tee. This pressure causes the piece holding the second half of the breech to close around the dart. (The triangle thing holds the dart in the center) The dart is then fired, and the increased pressure vents the pressure release valve, and the extension spring pulls the arm back in to allow another dart to drop down. The moving piece of pipe has half sections of brass tubing with neoprene on the sides, which seal the breech when compressed.
If you see any problems or have suggestions, feel free to help me out!

I'm not sure if I get it, is this essentially a "valveless" design where the projectile stops the flow by being jammed in place?

edit: thanks for the inspiration :)

I like this breech design! Very innovative. Its just that it has to be made very precise. But as it so versatile, nice!

Something tells me I mite be doing more custom machineing. Cool! Looks kinda tricky to make work, mite need guide rails to keep that dart inline. Don't want any jaming. The loading shots of air would have to be metered and timed just rite. All and all, doable!
