For my winter project i am going to build an electric scooter. I will use a 24 volt 350 watt motor. I will be using a simple two speed contactor controller to go from 12 volts to 24 volts. The only thing a can't figure out is what size of batteries I should. I was thinking something on the lines of two 12 volt 17 Amp hour batteries. How much distance do you think I can get from a setup like this? I am shooting for at least a distance of 15 miles. Another question is is it possible to make a simple battery charge meter? I would like it to be something as simple as a red L.E.D for charge and a green L.E.D for fully charged? My last question is does a gear ratio matter on electric scooters? Thanks
