i just came up with this idea for filling the chamber automatically, im not sure if itll work though because ive never done anything like it before.

the blue is air. the black block thing is like a piston. When the compressor or your air source is connected to the chamber it fills up and as the air goes through the holes in the piston and fills the chamber the pressure pushes the piston back and the narrow part on in slides into the narrow part of the chamber where the air source is connected and blocks off the air supply, then as soon as the gun is fired the pressure is released and the spring pushes the piston forward again and the air starts flowing back into the chamber.

Does anybody think this will work and does anyone have any ideas to improve it, or make it work if they think it wont.

I don't get what your trying to do, if you whant to fill your chamber after each shot wh not just keep your air supply connected?

I understand it, but there is no reason really because just as BigJon said, just keep what you have connected.

i wanted to use it because im working on designs for a pump action and i dont want to have to refill the gun by hand after each shot and ive found on a previous cannon that if you leave the compressor on when you fire then you get a stream of air rather than a burst and it quite badly affected the performance

Then you must have done something wrong, because it should fire fine even though you leave the compressor n while you fire. Just get to your desired pressure, shoot, and the it should refill by itself
