This is my new paintball rifle...Yeah, that's right, it's a rifle. It's just a basic QEV cannon. I named it metalingus after one of my favorite songs by Alter Bridge.
Specs

Valve: .75" QEV
Chamber: 40" of 1.25" galvanized steel
Barrels: 5 foot .75", and 5 foot 1.5"
Pilot: Blowgun
Pressure: 50-150 PSI

Looks very nice Potatoflinger You seem to have done a nice job on the rifling too. As always damage pics or vids are welcome Do you know how effective the rifling is yet? Pity that you can only operate this up to 150psi, that chamber could take sooo much more.

A video will come soon, I have most of it finished already, but I do have one damage pic, it's not that great, but it's all I have. I may get a shock pump soon, but I don't think it would be fun to pump the chamber up past 200 with a shock pump. The rifling seems pretty effective, I shot a metal slug at a magazine, and the slug has streaks of color on it (I'm guessing that it's from the print on the magazine) and the streaks are twisted down the side of the slug, which would mean that the slug was spinning when it hit the magazine.

to make the rifling more effective i would put some more grooves in, other than that its a cool launcher, also to make use of the rifling you should try it with non-spherical projectiles that will grip the rifling (a similar shape to an air rifle pellet)

your rifling job seems very good too. You just need some more pressure in that chamber.

How much pressure can the qev take? But ne way i gotta build me a metal gun for winter use, my advanced combustion is not very reliable in the winter.

Actually the ammo that I have been using with this gun the most is the co2 cartridge slugs that I made here:

Edit: The QEV is rated to 150 PSI.

Thats a buet, though I would think a 1 inch QEV would be better.

I have to agree, it's a bit of a shame you can't use a bit more pressure, that would be great at 300 psi.

Now why would you do that to a Cabela's catalog?

How did you rifle the barrel? Did you apply the good old dowel and nail? Also, I'm also curious as to how well the rifling effects accuracy. Nice job by the way.

very nice, do the paintballs take the rifiling well? Maybe a stock is in order for increased accuracy. I bet its wicked heavy.

@pvc arsenal: The magazine was a little outdated, so it had to go. (plus there's always the Cabelas website)

@Ragnarok: I might get a shock pump soon, so I might take it to 300 psi a few times.

@noob of noobs: I did use the dowel rod/screw method, except I sharpened the screws at an angle so that they would twist themselves when they went down the barrel.

@Isomer: I can't tell how the rifling affects paintballs yet because the only paintballs I have are crap, and they have flat spots on them. Also, the weight isn't that big of an issue, since I'm ripped

Wow, that's very cool. Is steel (I assume that's what you used, maybe I'm missing some thing) a lot more expensive than pvc? I agree with LikimysCrotchus5, my face is much better looking without pvc shards.
