ok i have made a copper gun. i used a piston valve. but instead of the sealing face pressing against the barrel like normal pistons. This on gets pushed inside the barrel. Like a barrel plug in paintball. Also this "plug" is actuated by a pneumatic air cylinder from a autococker. The actuator is double acting and will probably be controled by two blow guns. One for sealing the barell and one for unplugging it. here are pics and diagrams.
yeah i know the over under thing but i like it better this way. and the valve is very fast. also the plug does have o-ring, 2 actually. the cylander can go back and forth about 40 times a second with the right valve. like i said it was made for autococker paintball guns
how much travel does that actuator have? and how much force?
there will be more and more force needed to open it vs how much psi you use. Whereas in a normal piston valve they opening force is relative to the pressure.
While reading a book, this idea was presented to me, they talked about a gun with a bolt that had half it's threads stripped off to allow it to be...

Ok here is a little sketch I did, I think that putting the lock behing the chamber will work just fine, with rigid aluminum pipe that is. Tapering a...
