srry if someone has come up with this already i was thinking if you wanted to make and air rifle and get more than one shot every time yopu compress the chamber you could wire up a sparker to the solinoied so when you click the sparker it onpes the valve for a very short time and would not let all the air through of course the sparker might be to powerful for the solinoied and stuff it up so i am going to teat on an old solinoied for a valve that does not work and i will tell you if it works!!!

that surge of power might be to short of a surge and not do any thing and the valve might stay open but that is just me talk'n. however good thinking :D

Won't work. There's a lot of voltage, yes, but not enough current. Plus, the solenoid could short and burn out. I don't think it's worth the risk.

wouldn't the valve hang open due to the air presure rushing through?

Those little sparker thinks cant even light up an led. Great thinking though. Maybe if you used something like that with more current or something. Maybe a disposable camera ignition. Those pack quite a punch for a camera.
