Can't open attachments??!!

Need help on computer. Simple for you guys, I'm a nOOb.
I can not open attachments that come in e-mails , it says unsupported and that I need to down load something and refers me to page to download stuff that I don't crap about.
Any help ?? Thanks!!

Some one tried to send me GGDT results that wouldn't work.
An invite: invite final.pub(45.1kb) ??
Updated java and went to macromedia and uploaded flash player

.pub is usually a file from Microsoft Publisher. See if he can send those results in a .doc format.
