Steam cannon water heating

I was thinking if anybody has ideas how to heat water inside stainless steel chamber 8) some kind of electrical heating system would be good.

I don't want to heat the chamber with propane torch or similar, I want safe, easy and "fast" system to heat the water and heating needs to happen inside the chamber .. chamber will be about 4" diameter and 14" long , valve is going to be triggered bust disc

I`m not asking you to give me plans for heating system, I just need some good ideas

btw.. I´m not newbie so please don't come here and tell me how steam cannons work. lol

Cannon will be all metal and seals will be copper or similar , for triggering burst disc I was planning to get solenoid valve

that was my first idea , but I think too that they cant heat steam to high temperatures (200-500Celsius)

Well, first, I suggest researching steam vapour pressure tables.

Decide on your desired pressure, find the what temperature is needed to get to that, and then use that information to help find a suitable element.

You need to know that before we can be much use.

Pressure what I´m using is going to be around 10bar, and heat needs to be 180C.. but I want little overkill heater to go for high pressures

Maby use the configuration of a coffee pot set up and alter the power supply to get the heat you need. Coffee pot elements are designed to not burn us when we drink the heated coffee, so maby give it more power

does anyone know if pressure gauge works with vapour and this heat?

I think you have to keep it simple and use a torch but you might live somewhere where you can get a small heater for outside. then modify it

I was thinking about using steam myself because it has such good characteristic acording to GGDT...

a heating spiral should work well, as long as you make sure you won't burn yourself holding it or shooting...

defienately it would be something new and it's worth trying

yes, steam is very good for powering a cannon, but its not easy to work with.. and I´m trying to go supersonic with this cannon, thats why I´m using steam

The mention "the water comes out boiling so be careful" seems inapropriate to me. You normally don't stand in front of a loaded spudgun.

yes I´m going with some kind of heating coil, but it´s going to be inside the chamber because I´m going to insulate the chamber from out side.. that way I don't loose heat and it will heat the water faster

some of you may know sam barros from powerlabs, I´m going to ask help from him because I´m going to make the heating system myself

I'd use a sythetic chamber like carbon fiber or fiberglass. From there I would use a microwave circuit and build it into the cannon. I think you see where I'm going from here. Also, a heaing element wont work because of the electrity thing: water + electricity = electrical short. You would need to head it from and electrical insulator but a thermal conductor for the cannon to work with a heating element. Hard to say what that would be, but it sounds expensive.
