I finally got my spudgun work thanks 2 PCGUY!....I used rightguard deodorant.....thats why it didnt work b4...Im using butane right now and my spudgun works 1 out of 5 tries.I dont know why people's cannons are so loud..mines really quiet, its so quiet my friend that was next to me didnt even hear it fire.I shot a pingpong ball wrapped in duck tape, a couple of spuds, and a ball of paper......guess how far i could shoot?! A WHOLE 5 YARDS!!I kno..it sucks...why wont my cannon shoot far? 5 seconds after I shot my pingpong ball, I accidently hit the igniter and it fired again(does that have n e thing to do with it?), my friend was right in front of it when it fired, but luckily, there was nothing in the barrel. I bet even if there was something in the barrel it wouldnt hurt him at all cuz my cannon cant shoot more than 5 yards. I built the cannon thats on spudtech (10'' chamber, 36'' barrel).

May be the ignition isn't in the middle, or there are leaks, or the shell don't fit tightly, or it is too light.Fill it with a mix of 25% butane and 75% O2.Go in to a bunker and push the botton.Call me if it still doesn't work.

1 out of 5 doesn't sound very consistent either, so i'm betten it's the ignition, it don't take a lot of butane to get a big bang

use the butane refills you can get them from gas station counter tops/ebay/dollar store

useing a lighter will get costly and lighters are metered down way to far to get enough fuel to light, 1 little squirt from a refill will give you plenty

what kind of igniter are you useing?

I am using a camera flash igniter and the problem was that the screws were 2 far apart, so I moved them closer. The reason that it didnt shoot far was because i didnt have enough tape aroun the pingpong ball to make a good seal.Today I managed to shoot a mini orange about 300 yards.
