How important are different visual styles on the forum to you guys?

As you know, SpudFiles is a very very customized forum. So is Theopia. I plan on adding tons of other cool things when the move to phpBB v3 happens. But there are some problems.

I have been working with phpBB v3 and have quickly realized that having multiple highly-modified styles for Theopia and SpudFiles is going to take me FOREVER. Every time I install something and get it working the way I want it to, customize it, test it, etc I have to go between every style and do the same. It's making things very slow and hard to support. From a technical standpoint, it also makes things tougher since problems can come from a lot more places with multiple styles.

On SpudFiles when I had 2 different styles available to use, only about 50 of over 5000 active members used the alternative style. I am really starting to think it's not worth my time to continue to try to build various styles for such a small percentage of people to use.

So what would you guys rather have, big changes quicker or more style options (aka 2) but a much longer wait?
Yes, I am the guy that owns & operates SpudFiles (along with our extremely helpful moderators).

Multiple styles aren't necessary, but if you do decide to change it, I agree with Spudfarm, keep it something that isn't dark. It just makes it so much easier to read.

Bigger changes quicker:) I dont want it to look like some kinda myspace or something, i think you have to keep it a bit formal if I get what u mean. My request would be a better searchsystem, I always have troubles finding stuff back. Is it possible that you could add a personal favorites place for each user?

I have always liked the way spudfiles is now, so something similar to this would make me happy. The only thing I would change is the search function.

I only seldom use other styles on forums, and even then it's not a big thing, whichever one is easiest to read.

The current design here is just fine, so I say leave it on just the one style.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I don't think you should go through all of that trouble, especially when only 1% of the forum population actually uses it.

Forget new styles and do as everyone has said, work on the search function.
Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.
