Summer Project... What do I make?

Cannons powered by pneumatic pressure (compressed gas) using a valve or other release.

I've got a list of cannons I want to make, but I need to start somewhere first. I don't know what to make. My list consists of... 1. A silenced steel/copper marble gun. 2. A clip/cartridge fed airsoft shotgun. 3. An airsoft vortex incased in a LPEG form. 4. A compact shotgun-like device. (Airsoft) Blunderbuss perhaps? 4. A silenced tennisball gun.

Now, it is likely that only one or two of these will be created, along with my airsoft sniper which I will be asking for help on soon because the valve is ruining the configuration I had planned.

So, ideas, anyone? Other project ideas?

SHOT GUN!

Not many shotguns on the forum
It'll be both challenging and fun to shoot

Might I suggest 2 projects...1 - build one similar to one you've built before, improve it, enjoy it, make it a showcase. 2 - build one unlike any you've done before, stretch your experience base. Take your time on these and do em right.

It sounds like you're a pneumatic/airsoft/BB guy. Maybe try your hand with an advanced combustion..... :)

Yeah, I suppose I could try combustion. I have basically gathered and given mostly information here. I haven't built much, but I am fully able to regurgitate advice and a lot of construction stuff/concepts. I am constantly swamped by school, which doesn't help. But, I want to friggen do a REAL project now.

Sorry, I'm not thinking too well at the moment.

I would go with the compact shotgun personally. In regards to Boltsniper, check here.

Umm, isn't this supposed to be helping me decide what to build?

Then maybe you should focus on just one project for now...something to put your "book learnin' " to practice. Pick something that will stretch your building abilities some.

Also, take the opportunity to invest in some tools if you need them and can find the $$ resources. That kind of thing pays off for many years and makes gun building much easier.

I've got plenty of tools lying around, I don't think I will have a problem there! Torches, pipe wrenches, pvc glue, solder, teflon tape, air compressor, drills and drillbit, table saw, cutoff saw, etc. Its all pretty much there.

Make a compact copper shotgun, piston valve with regulated co2....... That would be sweet!

I say you do the clip fed shotgun, especially since that sticks with the airsoft theme, plus there aren't many clip fed guns on here.

4. A silenced tennisball gun. With a twist, sawn off double barrel coach style!

I'm imagining a budget from 60-100 dollars, so hopefully I can make it within that range. (Shotgun) Copper is relatively low cost around here, at HD I can get 10ft of 3/4" for 30 bucks or so. I would probably use threaded steel for the pressure chamber though. I was thinking about using a QEV for the valve, and most likely regulated c02. But the c02+regulation is already over $100... :(. Birthday present perhaps? It is the 8th of June... Hmm. Well, I already asked for a $165 Cowon D2 media player. OMG that thing is awesome. Look it up. But anyways, I am not sure who to ask for a c02 setup. As you may have seen in my other thread, I am spending a lot of cash on fireworks this summer. So yeah, probably around $100 to blow on a gun.

@Megaswordsman: That boltsniper guy looks like he's got some interesting stuff. Although I think I would purchase some bedliner or silicon tool dip to make grips instead of electrical tape, if I were to get into aethetics that much.

@potatoflinger: See, that is the issue. I want a cool airsoft gun like that really badly, but I also want a friggen marble gun to destroy stuff. And the silencer is because I live in the city. (I have a fairly large back yard with trees.)

@Jrrdw: Yet another problem. I could probably not say anything and my mom would think a tennisball gun is harmless. So, I have ANOTHER blow to my descision making. See my dilemna here?
