sdr-21 standard change?

Does anyone know if the standard for sdr-21 has changed? We bought a section to make a golf ball barrel, but golf balls don't fit. :sad1:
I used calipers to figure the difference and the ID of 1.5" sdr-21 we just bought was like 1.64" instead of what it was on an older piece we had: 1.71". wall thicknesses were like .185 new vs .105 old. Any suggestions?

sounds strange.. go to the store and look if they have more sdr-21 and messure it. mabe it is a fault.

@sthorne: Lardas hydraulic piping fits them so tight it is no way they are going to roll down with mouth pressure.

yeah, but I'm talking as far as pvc. I like to stick with the light weight stuff when It comes to large scale projects

Been thanked: 1 time

I believe most pipe standards define a minimum wall thickness, but I don't know if they define a maximum (I would guess not). It may be possible that the company who made it was trying to make SCH40 but it ended up under standard so they rated it as SDR21. Or they could have just had the machine poorly adjusted for that batch of SDR21.

Is the pipe slightly out of round? Clide is probably right however, the machine could have been improperly set for that batch.

Not really sure what to think, after going back to the supplier we went out and tried a couple different pieces of pipe and all were approximately the same size (too small). Hopefully for everyone else this is an isolated case.
