I have made several slugs out of reinforced concrete to use in one of my air guns, it is pretty wicked. I used some 2" sch 40 as a mold and placed a piece of rebar in the center of it (held in place with wood screws) then poured concrete in it. Once dry, I removed the screws and cut off the pipe I used as a form then centered the slug in a piece of 2.5 inch sch 40 with plastic wrap and duct tape holding the bottom shut using straws I pinched from mcdonalds and poured cold water in around the concrete (which I had already given a ride in the freezer over night). Then I put the whole thing in the freezer over night to allow the water to freeze. The next day, I allowed the whole thing to thaw enough to pull it out of the pipe, when I loaded it up, I had to force the slug down the barrel because the ice made such a good seal. At 90 psi from a small pneumatic gun, the rebar I left sticking out the end imdeded it's self 3" deep in an oak tree out back. It kicked like a damned mule though.

I would really like to try this on a junked out car some time.

sweet, i have been thinking about freesing rebar in ice and using my combustion launcher, the ice should break apart sending just the rebar core flying.

shooting stuff at junked up car parts is very fun.instead of a concrete slug, though,i used a metal one. found a ten foot bar of solid steel that fits perfect in a 2 inch sch 40 barrel

I use funnels. They are very light, aerodynamic and can make them to look evil.

Do they fly as well as frozen eggs? They ricochet like crazy when fired into the woods!

How are you getting raw eggs to work? If I can actually get them down my 17' of barrel without breaking, all I get upon firing is a fine mist. As for freezing, it was Mother Natures idea. It gets a tad bit nipply up here in January!

I can use raw or boiled with raw adding a little bit of cotton wool at the bottom of the egg then drop it in

Ok,
Custom ammo is really nice, but I still say finding a good source of FREE commercial waste is best, such as making buds with a salvage yard owner and getting a good supply of 2" trailer balls! :-)
