Right, first I've got to say sorry to all u spud masters, because I'm new and basically don't know much about spud guns. I have searched but I haven't found anything that really answers my questions.

I'm trying to make a CO2 powered BBMG with a 60cm approx barrel but really don't know what to do inside the chamber.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of different firing systems, such as cloud or vortex. I know the basics of them, but I don't know things such as gas usage, how long they last, power, rate of fire and such like. And what would you recommend for a noob making his first BBMG?

Thanks in advance :D

I would recomend making one that works off a compressor to test, most people enjoy clouds becuase of their simplicity to make and operate. Vortex's have a different look not as "clean" and inline, they are usually based around a t fitting. The Vortex's will work very nicly if machined well out of a hard material like aluminum or derlin, or pvc rod. There are also some Piston bbgun designs that would be more effeciant, you will need ALOT of gas to run this for any extended time. Well good luck :D

I'm also trying to build a strafer on CO2.Just gotta find a reducer to connect my tank(300 grams) to my regulator.I'll be using 9mm bb's (if it proves to bulky I might try 5,5 mm)and all metal.I plan to build a cloud chamber but at a 90 degree angle. At the top will be the barrel with an elbow facing down.Air will be blown in from the bottom.Probably uses a lot of gas but I don't mind.9mm should be devastating at full auto so I don't really want to shoot a 1000 bb's.If I get 100 shots out of that tank it will be awsome.

Yes. They dont indiviualy power the projectiles. Instead the stream of air just rushes to lower pressure and the BB's follow the stream. Think of pricking your air compressor with a nail and thats the effeincy of a cloud.

Ah, so a lot of refilling needed. Well, that's cloud out of the question; can't afford all the refills!

PS Thanks for all the replies :D
