Hey everyone, site has been in a bit of a lull lately, so I decided I should ask this question that has been on my mind for a while...

Does anyone remember the site air-power.net? I used to lurk there a long time ago, and I was wondering whether anyone knew of it or what happened to it, since it was one of my first spud gun sites.

So if anyone knew about it or knows what happened to it I would love to find out and get some closure !

Seems it went out a little before 2007.

I believe airpower.net came before Spudfiles.
Like you, I loved that site, but have no idea why it is no longer with us.

I also agree Spudfiles is ( now) the best.

But at the time airpower was still around ( I think it disappeared in late 2005 btw) a modded sprinkler valve was considered top of the line.

I remember air power!

I may even have a few cannons on SpudFiles from them, way back when I used to post cannons for everyone else instead of people posting their own. They should be buried on the bottom of the forums with me as the author.

I think I lost contact with the owner long ago randomly... basically just vanished (no more email/etc).
Yes, I am the guy that owns & operates SpudFiles (along with our extremely helpful moderators).

Wow, I just went through a couple of your early posts...
I remember when spudfiles was really small.
I think I remember each and every cannon from back then.

The comments seem very funny now.A basic solenoid sprinkler cannon was commented on as being very professional looking..

Those were the days!
Nowadays people come on for the first time and share actual professional cannons.

I think Airpower.net would seem just as silly in comparison.

Who would have suspected I'd actually build a 35 bar 2" cannon?
Or who could have known people would really fire projectiles using unregged CO2?
Or envisioned the Ultimate Inline bbmg by Neospud?
The Eclipse by Solar would have dropped some jaws...

Treasure this site people, donate if you can, or this site, like Airpower will be lost.

Agreed, It was more low key and lower tech, but its still nice to have things like that there, you know, because it offers some variety.

My favorite cannon there was a copper harpoon gun, it had a full vehicle mount ( to a jeep I may add...)and reel for the harpoons, it was a sweet piece of machinery back in the day, would have liked to see it again.

I think the main reason why spudfiles turned out to be the best is becasue

1.there is a great variety of guns presented here
2 there are people from all over the world..

the first time I got here the site seemed less american - more international
Children are the future

unless we stop them now

The crowkiller pump and Galfisks piston gun were among my favorites.
And the very first marble sniper, the one that shot the bark off a tree.
"why won't anybody play paintball with me?"

It had an interesting configuration.
It was part coax, part over-under.
The valve was located between the shoulderstock and the frontgrip, wich was basically all one big chamber, curving down to form a grip in the middle.
The front part of the barrel went through the chamber, coax-style, but the valve and breech were exposed. At that point the chamber ran underneath.
Great thinking.
