Well I finally got it going. My idea behind it not working was correct, I had too much flow going into the compressor hose. I just turned it down and it works perfectly.

The ROF isn't great but that's because the spring in there is the one of my blowgun that I ripped apart for the trigger.

Either way I'm still very happy with this even looking like Frankenstein's creation. I'll be looking forward to that rate of fire and about 350+psi

How are you planning to get 350+psi into it?

Also if you dont mind me asking, why is the air chamber so long?
Is it due to how you buy it that length at bunnings?

With either my homemade pump or a fridge compressor. Except I'm more then happy at 150-200. With the air chamber, it was all I could find at the time. i just quickly through it all together.

I would suggest a smaller chamber, the one you have now seems a bit too overkill. Also, a magazine would be a great help

Yeah I'm planning on doing a top job tomorrow. Just redoing it all from the start. I'm still so glad it works.

I feel like a bit of a sheep at the moment with the amount of people doing the exact same thing though .

Different things come in waves. Remember all the smallish hybrids? What about the pengun rush? Now it is semi auto. I am hoping the next big thing is huge 6 inch bore monstrosities.

It is cool how one persons achievements make that project seem so feasable. I would have never thought a piston valve the size of a pen would be feasable till I saw jsr do it for instance.

That it has! I'm still more then likely going to place a spring behind the piston as well as an equalization hole into it so I can place a homemade pump straight where the chamber is. I'd love to achieve 400+psi on the move and in no time at all.

Jook, you make a great point. I myself would love to see guns shoot cans of food at stupid velocities .

I live in an urban area, therefore large projects are impractical. When I made this project it was about the upper limit in terms of power and size that I could have around the house and garden, so instead of going bigger and better I tend to focus on smaller, more efficient, repeating etc.

That is kinda sad. I understand it would be tough to build something big when living in an urban area. I guess I take for granted living in the middle of nowhere Arizona where the cops think my big ass cannons are cool and ask how much for me to make them one. I lived in a large city when going to college (Phoenix AZ) and I have made a promise to myself that I will never live in one again. Thank god my wife agrees.

But still, you have to admit that cannons that big are awesome to watch videos of.

I usually shoot off my spud guns at my friends house. He has been mucking with black powder guns for years no his neighbors are used to it. a fully auto gun going BAM BAM BAM! doesn't seem to even phase them... neither did my 3/4'' piston gun going off with no barrel at 350psi. Damn that was a bad idea with no hearing protection.
