Sealing a 1'' pipe
Ok, a simple question. For my spring piston prototype, I need a 1" pvc piston, it pretty much needs to be filled with something that will make it airtight, so no air leaks out of the piston. Thanks!

In before JSR - Epoxy? Edit: beaten to it!
Also try PU expanding foam, polymorph, melted plastic bags.

Putty or resin will be fine. There is a post in the how-to database explaining the whole process.

I took a section of the pipe to a hardware store and bought a wooden dowel that fit in it. It was just a little bit small, and this gap was fixed with some duct tape...assuming that all you need is a good fitting piston.

If the fit is very close a few layers of Polyurethane varnish may do the trick.hubb017 wrote:I took a section of the pipe to a hardware store and bought a wooden dowel that fit in it.
