Ive recently completed a barrel sealing piston valve and am wondering on the pressure rating for a kinco nut and olive(nylon),which holds my barrel in place
its 3/4 copper extended into a 1'' tee ,and before i take the pressure right up i am wondering on what it will hold before blowing ?
compression fittings /pressure rating
No worries mate. But don't hold me to that though
Talking out of my arse a bit. But Mitch uses them in his guns and takes them to 500

They'll hold to whatever pressure you can put in them.
They'll hold until:
A) Whatever means the pipe is held to the olive by fails
B) The threads shear
C) The material behind the olive fails.
In other words, bloody high.

I have a question that is not related to this topic, but doesn't require the creation of a new one : is a shock-pump shrader compatible?
I'm tired of my bicycle pump topped at 200 psi , i want to double that.

I don't trust compression fittings, I know of at least two incidents where such a fitting has slipped with ...energetic disassembly as a result. To improve safety, you could fasten the olive on the barrel, brace the barrel so it won't slip, or use sand paper to put radial grooves around the pipe under the olive, to improve friction. Just being observant to any beginning slippage also helps.

GalFisk, I usually secure the olive by some means..
Seen as suspension shocks use schrader valves, you'd assume that shock pumps use an appropriate thread?
(yes)
