paint ball tank question

on HPA paintball tanks, what is the built in regulator usually regulated to? i don't want to be dumping 3000 psi into pvc cannon for obvious reasons. also, do they have a npt thread or do you need some kind of special adaptor to screw them into?

Cheaply from eBay, but note that I already had a 4500 psi SCUBA tank and connector to fill it from. The reg is adjusted by adding or removing shim washers from the internals, very easy to do.

You can buy a cheap adapter off ebay like this one for just $7.50, works a treat and has a 1/8" NPT female socket to connect to your BBMG.

would that allow me to connect it directly to my gun or would I need a regulator?

Depends on the tank, my Ninja unit has a built in regulator that can be set from 450-850 psi in three stages.

Worth pointing out that paintball tank ASA threads are a very good match for 1/2" bsp threads, as I used here.

Don't take this as absolute, though apparently a lot are regulated down to CO2 pressure for use in markers. Then again, I'm not completely sure!

ASA threads I believe, I think you can buy adapters.

If you just want a HPA pressure vessel you could buy a soda stream cylinder, empty it, remove the brass adapter. It has a 3/8" NPT thread. Each cylinder is tested to 250 bar.
