compact air compressor question

i was looking at buying one of these http://www.amazon.com/Slime-COMP04-Port ... 712&sr=8-6 but was wondering how well they work. does anyone own one? whats the volume output? how hard would it be to convert it to a 1/4" quick connect?

As to the compressor, I'm guessing it's no different to most small cheap 12 volt compressors, meaning it's shite unless you have a really tiny chamber and don't want to fill to high pressures.

I have no experience with that brand, but I have had compact air compressors in the same price range, and they were CRAP.

A 300 psi compressor goes up to 250 on its faulty gauge, which isn't right as the actual pressure is like 200...

A good bike pump is WAY better.

If you do get that, I must warn you its not going to be terribly portable. one must run that from a car battery, and it will drain your car battery so fast you need to run your car while filling it. Even with a 24ah 12 volt battery I only got about 2 fills for my mini cannon..... Aka.... Its probably not worth it at all.

these things are not worth their price... just find an old fridge and you've got a pretty nice compressor...

you could use it to fill an old co2 tank or fire extinguisher if you need something portable... or get a bike pump

i got me one of these http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1 ... ogId=10053 it carrys a charge for a while fills a 3 inch by 23 inch chamber to 60 psi in just a few mins it is protable comes with wall charger and car charger has a long life battery ( atlease it did for me) i broke the clip when i took it to 300 psi tho

300 according to the thing's gauge or according to a real pressure gauge?

Because those gauges usually read higher then the actual pressure.
Many cheap bike pumps and cheap compressors have low-quality gauges, which almost always read significantly higher then normal.
Makes the stuff look perform better then it actually is.

Hold it next to a real gauge, and you will see the difference. Your compressor COULD have a good gauge, I can't tell that for sure, but its probably crap.

If you need portability to run at your local field, a 1KW inverter will run most fridge compressors. Follow the instructions in the inverter manual. Don't expect it to work using a lighter plug.
