why use pvc piping

Why not steel?

First off its overkill for our usage, although its used when the expectations of the cannon increase/ call for it. Secondly, its cheaper to puy PVC. Though ive heard its quite hard to buy/find PVC in any suitable form in other countrys. Thirdly, construction in easier. With any metal you have to weld the joints or thread them. Now I think most of us without welders (good ones at least) would rather spend at most $5 dollars on a can of glue to "weld" PVC rather then 200$+ for a welder. Threads can leak so basically doing so can defeat your original intent.

careful, galvinized steel can give off zinc gas when welded, do so outdoors if you must

i can hit cast iron with a hammer and it'll shatter, its very brittle.

there are big difference between brittleness and pressure overcoming.......as cast iron can withstand much bigger pressures than PVC,although it is brittle.....so i need to know by means of standards what is the Pmax that CI could bear?....or any one don't know?
