T-shirt launcher for car show

We we're asked to build a T-shirt launcher for giveaways at this years Honolulu international auto show for the guys at <a href="http://www.Forjworks.com/">Forjworks.com</a>. They needed something that could shoot about 15-25 yards within the 50 foot ceiling so after careful calculation we determined that a 3/4" sprinkler valve would work. So we used a 2" sprinkler valve piloted with a 3/8" ball valve to ensure success. Both barrel and chamber are 24" in length.

The launcher utilized the Scion's on board suspension compressed air system.

Launcher and the Yakima mounts were built for customer.

That red coupler on the barrel remindes me of one my team built for a competion. It wouldn't be a breech loader would it?



That coupler looks real familiar. Love to see a video of yours in action.

For lower power, I simply use the 1 inch marshmallow cannon and drop the pressure with the short barrel. 10-25 yard shots are easy. The small tank and 3 foot barrel maxxes out at about 200 feet at 100 PSI.

The large cannon maxxes out at about 400 feet with a t shirt.

JSR. What about the first rule of cartridge club? Anyway, you should see the pile of chips I made last week.

Tech - yep its a breech loader. Its a 3 inch coupler - designed to repair a broken pipe or if it had a hole in the side. We would have cut a much better looking/working version had they given us more than 2 days to build, test and paint (including the mount, and rack).

Also on the elbow where the barrel connects to the valve, is that threaded? If it is then does it allow you to adjust the barrel angle?

We planned it as we went kind of build.. went to ISI (our big plumbing shop here on island) and picked up the fittings and valve, and put it all together that evening. We had to show to Servco Scion our local dealer here to get approval the next morning and then dropped it off for paint. Built the racks and installed the next morning at the show, minutes before opening...

Yep, threaded and we angled it up slightly. The telescope base did offer pan and windage too. For tilt, we simply raised one side of the car suspension.
