Hi all. With the onset of a new idea that I just couldn't leave alone, I decided to come here to see if it would work, opinions, and/or past work like it. On to the idea itself now. Undoubtedly, everyone is familiar with BBMGs here. So my plan is to have a vortex gun, but instead of a magazine/hopper/whatever on the gun itself, It's located in a backpack. This is where a 68/45 paintball tank, a HPR, 500 PSI pneumatic solenoid, and a plastic container is located. There's a vortex block in the bottom of the container, which is sealed to be airtight. A close-to-6mm flexible hose goes from the container to the gun, with a wire from an electric trigger to the solenoid attached to it. I'm pretty sure that the air will expand in between the container and the gun, so I'm thinking that if I dial in the regulator for around 250 PSI it'll be enough. So, thoughts?

I wouldn't use any plastic container at 250 psi. When you bend the flex hose it ID will get smaller.

What's the objection to having the BBs in the gun itself, are you trying to create a "flamethrower" design?

IMO...introducing the projectiles into the hose rather than directly into the breach end of a straight barrel will use substantially more gas and ultimately abrade the I.D. of the hose but, I think it can work.

Yeah, but that gun's using copper tubing... not plastic of any sort. I'd say the idea MIGHT work, but the BBs in the plastic tubing... usually not a good idea. Good chance of it jamming, I'd say.

I would also suggest using metal, not plastics for those pressures. Some plastic hoses or schedule 80 PVC can take 250 easy... but I'd not risk it.
