well i made a suppressor. it consists of .5" PVC, with 50 .5" holes drilled in it, i then raped it in paper towels, and masking tape. placed it into 1.5" drain PVC, and covered the end in tap, poked a hole in it (for the projectile to pass through) and finally used quick steel (epoxy putty) to mount it to my CO2 pellet pistol, for a simple design it is amazing, and noob (me!) friendly, the only tools you need are a drill and bit. does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds nice and simple. If you ever build a new one you might try using baffles as they will probably be even more effective for suppression.

Here are you sure it doesn't look like this :D

*ahem*

Take a look at this video, plenty of "n00b friendly" info on more effective ways to make the interior, as well as attaching the finished product to your launcher.

I made a surpressor for my airgun too.
Exactly the same way as you did, but it makes the bang only louder :D
The only reason I keep it on, is that it makes a nice low "boom" instead of the high-pitched crack without it.

And.. isn't .5 inches a little narrow to rape?

Half inch holes seem too big. That's the full nominal diameter of the pipe!

Delete the paper towels and use steel wool instead.

1/2" PVC has an OD of 0.840" and an ID of 0.622", ramses
Labtecpower, your supressor needs to have more volume, most likely, and try stuffing it with steel wool like velocity3x reccomends

It's just like pantomime ;)
performance convention, they wrote:Risqué double entendre, often wringing innuendo out of perfectly innocent phrases. This is, in theory, over the heads of the children in the audience

I would say more volume is more likely to make it more effective that steel wool. The latter is useful in suppressors for combustion based launchers where the heat of the propelling gasses is proportional to their pressure.

Many commercial airgun suppressors, like the Weihrauch pictured below, which is considered to be very effective - use a more fibrous synthetic material that feels a bit like a scouring pad - oh, and hair curlers apparently

Even so, It seems something more like 3/16 would seem better proportioned.
